Glazounov Violin Concerto hand-written by my father in China…
December, 2007
I’ve always thought music to be healing. Ever since I was little when my father would practice with me even when I was sick...I always found that when I was playing or practising, I could not feel pain; my stuffy nose would go away, I’d forget about my sore throat, my eyes would stop watering...and my head, regardless of fever, would be clearer than ever. More so than ever, just a week ago when I was performing in Regina when my finger was still healing (I started practising only 2 days before the performance)...as soon as the music began, all my concerns and pain went away. How incredible the power of music is!
And so my first solo concert back was very special. One thing I have learned and will never forget...is that I should never take being able to perform my music & art for granted. It is a gift that I can do this every day. I am ever so grateful! In fact...we should always take moments in our life to be thankful for all the little things that make the world and us go round. ;)
